Hiking in Sun Valley
Growing up, my family would go hiking a lot during the summer months. Some of the best childhood memories came from hiking as a family! As I’ve gotten older, I have brought that love of hiking with me. I haven’t done it enough this summer but I plan to go hiking at least 2-3 more times before the summer is over. Kendall and I decided to take off on Saturday and drive to one of our favorite hiking locations, Sun Valley! The hikes around Sun Valley never disappoint. It was nice getting out and breathing some fresh mountain air, taking pictures just for fun, and spending some quality time together.…

5 Tips to Help Improve Your Photos
I’m really excited to share today’s post with you guys because if you know me, you know how much I love photography. Photography has always been such a huge part of my life. Growing up, I remember my dad having a camera in hand often, whether he was taking pictures or recording a video, a camera was almost always in the room or on vacation with us. I never noticed it much, but one day I got curious and wanted to try my hand at taking a few pictures. We were in Sun Valley, Idaho as a family, hiking and exploring the town. While we were there, I couldn’t help…

Family Trip To Ashton
We spent the weekend with family in Ashton, Idaho. It was such a great little getaway. Fall is my favorite season to hike because of all of the colors on the trees. Although there wasn’t as much color as we were expecting, we still had a great time getting outside in the fresh air! Warning: This post may contain a lot of cute pictures of Mason! In fact, I primarily only took pictures of Mason! haha. Enjoy! We got everyone except my dad and Kendall in this picture. Mason with his beloved leaf. He carried this around pretty much the whole time. I think Mason may have been bundled up…

The Monarch Butterfly
These photos are from a wedding that Kendall and I shot a couple of weeks ago. I had to share these in a separate post because I thought that it was too perfect how these kids interacted with this monarch butterfly. The little girl in the dress, with the pearl belt, found the butterfly and it stayed on her finger for over an hour! When we tried to let it go it didn’t want to leave. I thought it was so crazy! I’ve never had a butterfly do that before. It didn’t look like it was injured or anything, it just was a friendly butterfly. 🙂 I still can’t get…

Trip to the Redwoods
We just got back a few days ago from our Redwoods trip and it was so much fun! If you’ve never been to the Redwoods you’ll definitely have to go sometime. They are beautiful! We spent a lot of time hiking and exploring (my favorite) so it was definitely a trip worth remembering. Below are some pictures from our trip. We went to the Prairie Creek Redwoods for a majority of our hikes. There are a ton of different trails so you definitely won’t get bored! We ended up seeing a ton of elk before we started hiking. There were about 10-15 elk just a few feet away from us.…

Love, Laughter and Surprises. Alina+Kris’s Wedding Day!
Kendall and I had the opportunity to shoot Alina and Kris’s wedding two weeks ago, it was such a blast! When I looked through/edited the wedding photos I ended up reliving the day and for this particular wedding, I was smiling even bigger than usual because it was such a beautiful day and the pictures turned out great, despite a few setbacks. Part of the wedding photography process involves meeting with the bride and groom a few weeks before the wedding to make a plan and to make sure that we are all on the same page. I don’t want to miss anything that is important to them so I…

The Mcarthurs: A Family Photo Session
This photoshoot was so fun but it was a bit windy out. I don’t mind shooting in the rain or snow but the wind is the hardest for me. It makes it difficult to try and keep hair out of the face and it makes it 10 times colder. The Mcarthur’s were troopers though and they stuck it out with me to get some family photos. Below are a few photos from their family session! That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed looking through a few of the photos from this family session! 🙂

You Brought Me, Joy! An Engagement Session
Over the weekend, Kendall and I had the opportunity to take engagement photos for Joy and Terry! The first time I met them, was the day of the shoot and I have to say, after a few minutes of talking with them, I felt like I had known them for years! They were so fun and their smiles were contagious. Our first location was a farmer’s market. I just love all things fall and it was so fun to get a few pictures of them with apples, pumpkins and corn stalks. I also have to note, we got extremely lucky because the weather was perfect on Sunday, we really couldn’t…

Roller Coasters, Canyons & Caves
Every year when fall comes around I get excited for the leaves to change colors. I have always loved fall for the beauty it has to offer and every year I enjoy it for the short time that it lasts. This year when September hit, I really wanted to go to Logan Canyon to see the fall leaves. For those of you who have never been to Logan Canyon, it is in Utah and during the fall, the colors on the trees are unreal! I am constantly looking at pictures that other photographers have taken and I love how colorful the trees get. After talking Kendall into a short weekend…

Soon To Be Six! A Family & Maternity Session
Kendall and I shot a unique and very fun session over the weekend. This session was unique because we captured family, maternity and the gender reveal all in one! This was our first time doing all three but it was an absolute blast! We couldn’t have asked for a better family to capture, they were both creative and funny. So without further explanation let’s get into the pictures! Amanda (the mom) ended up buying smoke bombs for the reveal. I thought it was such a fun idea and I couldn’t wait to capture the kid’s reactions. It’s a girl!!! I think the name that they picked out for their little girl…
