Love, Laughter and Surprises. Alina+Kris’s Wedding Day!

Kendall and I had the opportunity to shoot Alina and Kris’s wedding two weeks ago, it was such a blast! When I looked through/edited the wedding photos I ended up reliving the day and for this particular wedding, I was smiling even bigger than usual because it was such a beautiful day and the pictures turned out great, despite a few setbacks.

Part of the wedding photography process involves meeting with the bride and groom a few weeks before the wedding to make a plan and to make sure that we are all on the same page. I don’t want to miss anything that is important to them so I write out a list and plan out pictures accordingly so that the photos can go as smooth as possible. I don’t want the bride and groom to have to be stressed about pictures on their wedding day so planning with them is key!

My goal is to finish photos at least one hour before the ceremony so that the bride and groom have some downtime. I also always plan for at least an extra hour of wiggle room for photos because something always seems to come up that pushes photos back and I’m never stressed about it because I know that I have extra wiggle room and well frankly things coming up is just part of LIFE! haha.

For this particular wedding I was going to start photos at 3 p.m. We were going to start with just Alina+Kris for the first look, then bridal party photos and then end with family before the ceremony. Well, I got a call from Alina around 2:40 saying that Kris’s pants got shipped to the wrong address and when they finally got shipped to the correct address, he tried them on and they didn’t fit. Uh-oh! haha. I told her not to worry and to just keep me updated and that Kendall and I would be ready for them whenever they figured out plan B. Well, long story short, Kris went with a different pair of pants, but pictures didn’t start until 5:15 which left very little time before the ceremony. We ended up pushing family and bridal party photos to after the ceremony because we were barely going to make it on time for the ceremony!

We took the ceremony photos and then rolled right into the family/bridal party photos and the lighting was GORGEOUS!! It was close to the golden hour and everything was glowing! It made me so happy. Good lighting and an outdoor wedding equals every photographer’s dream!!

Photos didn’t go as originally planned but I’m so glad they didn’t because the lighting was even better! Everyone was so relaxed and it made for such a fun wedding day. Despite some setbacks throughout the day (there were more things that came up throughout the day) Alina and Kris were smiling, laughing and having so much fun the whole time. They were so fun to shoot because they were beaming with joy and it definitely showed throughout the pictures. Kendall and I were honored to be able to work with such a beautiful, fun and loving couple!

Now since I’ve told you a little background on how the day went…. here are some pictures from their wedding day. Enjoy! 🙂

That’s all for today! I hope you enjoyed looking through a few photos from their wedding day.

As always, thanks for reading! 🙂
